Jobs in Science needed more than a standard off-the-shelf website - they needed a genuine recruitment platform, with tools for their team to manage vacancies and tools for candidates to manage their own applications. That's what we built.
Every bespoke website project starts with two initial design concepts - a homepage and a standard content page - refined and approved before a single line of code is written, so the final build matches exactly what was agreed.
Built for Employers: A Full Job Management System
We built a fully-fledged job management area within the admin, allowing the Jobs in Science team to add, edit and manage vacancies entirely within our in-house developed CMS - as with every site we build, all of it coded by us, not a third-party plugin bolted on.
- CV loader and applicant registration form, with fields tailored to their specific requirements
- Applicant search by main field, location, date CV received, or CV keyword
- Remote access to all applicant data, including CV storage
- Vacancies grouped into custom job types, with new categories easily added through the CMS
- A live "latest jobs" display shown across relevant pages on the site
Built for Candidates: Self-Service Login
Candidates get their own login area, where they can see which jobs they've applied to, upload or update their CV, and manage their contact details - no need to email in every time something changes.
To make account creation as frictionless as possible, the login supports SSO with Google - a one-click sign-in that skips the usual registration form entirely.
Built on Our CMS, With SEO Handled Properly
The site runs on our block-based, in-house developed CMS, giving the Jobs in Science team full control over their content without needing technical expertise - plus a full suite of SEO tools built directly into the admin.
Because this was a rebuild of an existing site, we also handled the full SEO migration - metadata and redirects carried across cleanly, so none of their existing search visibility was lost in the move.
